ZOOM SESSION ON JULY 23 WITH AUTHOR CATHERINE STIER
When Writing Gets “Ruff”:
Creating A DOG’S DAY Chapter Book Series

Diving into a new kids’ lit format can be challenging! Award-winning children’s author Catherine Stier will share her experiences transitioning from writing picture books to tackling her new, Kirkus Starred Review chapter book series. Each book in the A DOG’S DAY series (Albert Whitman & Co.) presents a day in the life of a working dog – from the POV of the dog. Stier will discuss the popular chapter book format, rules to consider when creating animal characters, and ways to infuse a story with action to keep readers turning the pages until the end.
