ONLINE WEBINAR WITH AUTHOR DIANE GONZALES BERTRAND
WRITING SMALLER
Author Diane Gonzales Bertrand will share ways to keep details, characters and settings in the spotlight without sacrificing plot, tone, or world-building. Interactive activities give participants an opportunity to climb a ladder of specificity, to reimagine grammar as the bone and muscle of sentence building, and to wrangle details from dry descriptions.

She is the author of more than twenty-five books for children and teens. Her new collection The Taco Magician and Other Poems for Kids / El mago de los tacos y otros poemas para niños was published in 2019. In 2018 she was named a Tri-centennial Poet for the city of San Antonio. As Writer-in-Residence at St. Mary’s University, Bertrand teaches English composition and creative writing in the English Literature and Language Department.
